Some Tips on how to monetize Pinterest:

Pinterest is the new social media in the rise. Its alexa ranking is increasing in a massive rate.

Internet marketers are looking ways to monetize pinterest.

Some of my initial thoughts after browsing Pinterest for a day.

For this you need Pinterest account + Tumblr blog free account.

1. Usually products like home improvement, food related stuff are the ideal to promote in pinterest (anything that interests women)
2. Collect relevant pics (usually in a different angle, not product promotion pics) and post them in your tumblr blog
3. Pin those unique and cool pics worth re-pinning from your tumblr blog to your pinterest board.
4. Near your pins, the source url of the pic will be shown as your tumblr blog. The tumblr blog will have the product affiliate link
5. Do not over do this because it may become a failure. Also do not include affiliate links to all your tumblr blog posts.
6. As far as i know tumblr do not allow adsense or other ads. But it has option to include Google analytics.
7. So track your affiliate links and conversion by including analytics in your tumblr blog.

so

You pin some great pics related to your product/niche  >> your followers from pinterest repins >> you get traffic to your tumblr blog >> tumblr blog has affiliate link to the product
